Terms and Conditions

Version 1.1 · effective 16 September 2026 (adds the pass guarantee, section 17)

These terms are a legal agreement between you and PassthePSA. By creating an account, using the site or buying a plan you agree to them. Please read them: they set out that the 3-month and 6-month plans renew automatically, that you can cancel renewal at any time from your account, and that we do not give refunds for change of mind once access has begun.

1. Who we are

The Service is operated under the trading name PassthePSA (“we”, “us”), based in the United Kingdom. All contact, including notices, complaints and requests under these terms, is by email to support@passthepsa.com.

PassthePSA is an independent revision resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to the Medical Schools Council, the British Pharmacological Society, the Prescribing Safety Assessment, the BNF or any medical school.

2. The service

PassthePSA provides online practice questions, mock papers, explanations and progress tools for people preparing for the UK Prescribing Safety Assessment (the “Service”). Free accounts include a fixed set of sample questions. Paid plans unlock the full question bank and all mock papers for the period you buy.

The Service is an educational resource only. It is not medical, clinical or prescribing advice, and it must not be used to inform the care of any patient. Always check the current BNF and local guidance before prescribing.

3. Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to use the Service. By creating an account or buying a plan you confirm that you are; the checkout asks you to confirm it expressly. You must give a valid email address and keep your password secret. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • An account and a plan are for one named person. They may not be shared, lent, sold or transferred. We may suspend or close accounts that show signs of shared use.
  • Tell us straight away at support@passthepsa.com if you think someone else has used your account.

4. Plans and prices

Current plans and prices are shown on the pricing page and at checkout. Prices are in pounds sterling and are the total price payable. Payment is taken by our payment provider, Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

Each payment grants a fixed access period, which starts immediately and stacks on top of any access you already have, so buying again never shortens what you already paid for.

5. Automatic renewal

The 3-month plan renews every 3 months and the 6-month plan renews every 6 months, on the renewal date shown at checkout, in your account and in your Stripe receipts, at the price you paid (including any referral discount), until you cancel. Each successful renewal payment extends your access by a further plan period. The 12-month plan is a single payment and does not renew.

If we ever need to change the renewal price we will email you at least 30 days before the renewal in question so that you can cancel first.

6. How to cancel renewal

You can cancel at any time. To stop the next renewal:

  1. Sign in and open your Account page.
  2. Click Manage subscription & payment method, which opens our secure Stripe billing portal.
  3. Choose Cancel plan and confirm.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access until then and are not charged again. To avoid a renewal charge, cancel before the renewal date. A renewal that has already been taken is not refunded, in whole or in part. If you cannot reach the portal, email support@passthepsa.com from your account email address before the renewal date and we will cancel it for you.

7. Immediate access and your right to cancel

Because our plans are digital content delivered online, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 would ordinarily give you 14 days from purchase to change your mind. At checkout you are asked to expressly request that your access begins immediately and to acknowledge that you lose your right to cancel once access has begun. You cannot buy a plan without giving that acknowledgement, and we record it against your account. From the moment your access is activated, the 14-day cancellation right no longer applies.

8. No refunds

We do not give refunds or credits for change of mind, for unused time, for a plan bought by mistake, for forgetting to cancel a renewal, or for passing or sitting the exam earlier than expected. Please choose your plan carefully and use the free questions first if you are unsure.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If the Service is faulty or not as described, contact support@passthepsa.com with details; we will first repair or replace the affected content and, where the law requires it, give a price reduction or refund.

9. Failed payments

Access is never provided on credit. If a renewal payment fails, Stripe may retry it and will email you to update your payment method. If the payment is not collected before your paid access period ends, your access is withdrawn at the end of that period and the subscription is cancelled. Your progress data is kept, and you can start a new plan at any time to restore access.

10. Acceptable use

You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial exam preparation. You may not:

  • share your login or let anyone else use your account;
  • copy, download, scrape, screenshot in bulk, reproduce, publish, sell or distribute any questions, papers, explanations or other content, or use them to build or train any other product, resource or model;
  • use bots, scripts or automated tools against the site, or attempt to bypass the paywall, rate limits or security measures;
  • reverse engineer any part of the Service;
  • post abusive, unlawful or misleading content through the feedback and flag tools.

If you break these rules we may suspend or terminate your account immediately and without refund, and we may recover our losses from you.

11. Intellectual property

All questions, papers, explanations, text, design, code and other content on the Service are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and database right. You receive a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use them through the Service while your account is in good standing, and nothing more.

12. Content and accuracy

We work hard to keep every question and explanation accurate and aligned with the current BNF, and we review items that users flag. But medicine changes, and we cannot guarantee that every item is free of error or reflects the latest guidance. Explanations cite the BNF passage they rely on; check it. We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in any exam mark or a pass.

13. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service available at all times but do not promise uninterrupted access; maintenance, updates and events outside our control can cause downtime. We may add, change, retire or re-write content and features at any time. If we permanently withdraw the Service, we will give you notice and refund the unused part of any paid period; that is the only circumstance in which unused time is refunded.

14. Ending your account

You can stop using the Service at any time, and can ask us to delete your account by emailing support@passthepsa.com. Closing your account does not refund any payment and does not by itself cancel an active renewal, so cancel renewal first (section 6).

15. Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to that, we are not responsible for any loss that was not a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms, for any loss arising from your use of the Service in clinical practice or for any patient, for exam results, or for any business loss. Our total liability to you for all claims arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

16. Referral scheme

From time to time we offer discounts for people who sign up with a referral code or link, as described on the pricing page. Referral discounts apply to the account that used the code, are set when you sign up and cannot be added afterwards. We may withdraw, change or refuse referral benefits where we suspect self-referral, shared accounts or other abuse.

17. Pass guarantee

If you meet all of the conditions below and do not pass the Prescribing Safety Assessment, we will extend your access to the Service free of charge for 3 months from the date your claim is accepted. This is the only remedy under the guarantee: it is not a refund, and no cash alternative is offered.

  1. You held a paid plan on the day you sat the PSA, and the sitting took place during the period that plan was active.
  2. Before the day of the sitting you had answered and submitted at least 400 distinct questions on the Service, in any mode. We count from the practice record stored against your account; questions answered while signed out, or on the free sample before creating an account, may not count.
  3. You did not pass that sitting. A pass at a resit does not affect a claim for the failed sitting.
  4. You email support@passthepsa.com within 30 days of the date your result was released, from the address on your account, with a copy of the official result notification showing your name, the sitting date and the outcome.
  5. One claim per person. The guarantee applies once, to the first failed sitting during a paid plan; the free extension itself does not carry a further guarantee.
  6. Your account is in good standing under section 10 (Acceptable use). Sharing an account or automating answers voids the guarantee.

We aim to respond to claims within 5 working days. The extension is added to the end of your current access. If a plan renews before a claim is accepted, we will refund that renewal or extend from its end date, at your choice. The guarantee reflects our confidence in the Service; it is not a warranty that any individual will pass, and passing depends on your own preparation.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version and date appear at the top of this page. For changes that affect an active subscription we will email you at least 30 days before they take effect; if you do not accept them, cancel renewal before that date. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.

19. Complaints, law and courts

If something goes wrong, email support@passthepsa.com and we will try to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring legal proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

20. Other terms

These terms, together with our privacy policy, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If any part of them is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. If we delay enforcing any term, we can still enforce it later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms to anyone else.
